Cost & commitment
No. The community pilot sessions are entirely free of charge. We bring all materials — printed cards, timers, activity sheets, and take-home packs. There are no hidden fees, and no future financial commitments arise from accepting a session.
None at all. After the pilot session, we share findings together and discuss whether a term program would benefit your community. There is no commitment required at any stage. You are welcome to stop at one session.
Yes. After the initial free pilot, we offer term programs (4 sessions per term) and full-year packages for community centres and schools. These are discussed after the pilot — there is no obligation to commit to anything during or after the first session.
The session
The session has six phases: a welcome and warm-up (0–5 min), a baseline Brain Check-in test (5–15 min), The Why Demo where children experience overstimulation first-hand (15–30 min), the Training Block with age-split exercises (30–55 min), a re-test and debrief (55–65 min), and a take-home challenge distribution (65–75 min). See the full breakdown on our Workshop page.
Zero screens are used during the session. Every exercise is delivered using printed materials, physical cards, and spoken facilitation. No devices are needed from your venue or from children. We bring everything required.
We are flexible on timing. After-school sessions, weekend mornings, and school holiday program slots all work well. We discuss timing during our initial 20-minute call and confirm a date that suits your schedule and expected attendance.
A hall, meeting room, or activity room large enough for your expected group. Tables and chairs arranged in clusters of 4–6 is ideal. No AV equipment, projectors, or special setup is required from your side. We bring everything we need.
Children
The program is designed for ages 6–15. We split the group during the Training Block: ages 6–10 (Little Focusers) do story-based and game-based exercises, while ages 11–15 (Focus Builders) do challenge-based exercises. If your group is primarily one age range, we adapt accordingly.
The ideal group is 10–30 children. We can run smaller groups (as few as 6 children) with no issue. For larger groups up to 50, we bring a second facilitator. Please mention your expected numbers when we speak — we plan accordingly.
Our exercises are non-academic and non-competitive. No child is required to share results or perform in front of the group. The Silence Sprint is the exercise children find most challenging — facilitators are trained to normalise the difficulty and keep the tone supportive and safe at all times.
Parents are welcome to observe. We find it often increases their interest in the adult program and deepens their understanding of what their child practised. We simply ask that parents do not interfere with the children's exercises while they're running.
Your organisation
We strongly recommend at least one adult from your organisation is present — both as a point of contact and because you will want to observe the session. However, you are not expected to facilitate, assist with, or manage any part of the activity. We handle everything.
Very little. We need a suitable space with tables and chairs, a confirmed date and time, a simple message sent to your community letting them know the session is happening (we provide ready-to-send copy), and one point of contact on the day to greet us and show us the space.
Yes. The Brain Score Report is yours to share. It's a one-page summary showing before and after cognitive scores for your group — a professionally documented wellbeing activity outcome you can report to funders, committees, or community partners.
Data & privacy
We collect Brain Score Card results (anonymous, child-only), the feedback forms children fill in at the end of the session, and facilitator observations. We do not collect names unless children choose to write them on their cards. All data is used solely for program improvement and community reporting.
The feedback form is anonymous and voluntary. Children are encouraged to complete it but never required to. We ask your organisation for permission to collect this feedback as part of the session agreement — it helps us improve the program and is shared back with you in the session report.
